A vivid retelling of some of the gypsy tales collected from the Wood family in Caegwyn by Dr John Sampson. Magical tales rich with the mystery of the Welsh landscape and what Folklorists would call 'Marchen' i.e. quest stories where the hero or heroine must undergo trials to find something that has been lost or mend something that has been broken. Like the tales of Grimm and Perrault these revolve around cycles of three. These tales can captivate and enthral audiences and The Leaves That Hung But Never Grew, and The Green Man of No Man's Land from this collection have the potential to grip the imagination. It comprises seven short stories, ideal for 9-11 year olds, from the captivating storyteller with striking illustrations by Brett Breckon. Meticulous research at The Museum of Welsh Life gives the text authenticity. Daniel Morden's busy schedule of performances during the summer months of 2006 will ensure that these tales will reach a wide audience. The sales of the author's first collection Weird Tales from the Storyteller prove that there is a market for written as well as oral folktales.
