Lyman Frank Baum was an American author of children's books, best known for writing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Lewis Carroll is the pseudonym of Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, 1832-1898. Alice in Wonderland was first published in 1865. Johann David Wyss (1743-1818) was a Swiss pastor. The Swiss Family Robinson was edited by his son Johann Rudolf Wyss, a scholar who wrote the Swiss national anthem. J. M. BARRIE originally wrote Peter Pan as a play -- its first performance in 1904 met with instant acclaim. Barrie then adapted the play into the 1911 novel Peter Pan and Wendy.
