This book describes the life of the creator of Peter Rabbit and his friends, some of the best-known animal characters among children all over the world. The reader learns how it all started by the author enjoying drawing her pet animals in her home in London, then started to make up stories about them. The narrative also tells how Beatrix faced up the rejection from several publishers before she found Frederick Warne. It also reveals to the reader how her life had its ups and downs, but ended happily in the Lake District, where her cottage, Hill Top, can still be visited, showing them the real person behind the author of some of their favourite animal stories.
