Caroline Pitcher's story Kevin the Blue won the Independent Story of the Year Award in 1993. Caroline's first book for Frances Lincoln was The Snow Whale with Jackie Morris, chosen as one of Child Education's Best Books of 1996 and shortlisted for the 1997 Children's Book Award. Nilesh Mistry was born in Bombay. He came to Britain in 1975 and studied illustration at Harrow School of Art and Central St Martin's School of Art. He lives in Harrow. Jatinder Verma was born in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. At the age of 14, he moved with his family to the UK as part of the Kenyan Exodus. An acclaimed playwright, Jatinder is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Tara Arts, the first Asian Theatre Company in the UK.
