Loretta Schauer has always had a passion for drawing and creativity, and honed her illustration skills through evening classes. In addition to her illustration, she works for Heath Hands, a charity dedicated to conservation and horticulture. Etta Kaner is a retired elementary school teacher and writer for both children and educators. Her children's books have won numerous awards, including the Silver Birch Award, the Scientific American Young Readers Book Award and the Science in Society Book Award. She lives in Toronto, Ontario. Marilyn Faucher is an illustrator and graphic designer. Her vibrant, sensitive illustrations are inspired by nature, animals, food and bicycle adventures. She lives in Montreal, Quebec. Juliet David has written many children's stories and Bible activity books. Her other interests include painting, music, and travel to Israel and other Bible lands. This experienced author lives in London with her family. Julie Clay has worked as an illustrator for more than 28 years, for both greetings cards and children's books. She has a B. A. in Graphic Design, and loves to create all sorts of cute characters. Julie lives in Yorkshire, England, and is married with a grown-up son. Her many artistic influences include the wonderful world around us. Suzanne Smith is Creative Director and Content Creator at Mums Creative Content Ltd and Doodle Pie Ltd, who create captivating concepts for children's television and books including the Hattie B, Magical Vet series published by Puffin and the Doodle Girl picture book activity series published by Simon and Schuster. Charlotte Cooke graduated from the University of the West of England in 2010 with a First Class Honours degree in Illustration. She was awarded Highly Commended for the Macmillan Prize in 2010. Her publishers include Parragon and Canata Learning and she has worked with Charlotte and Adam Guillain, best-selling authors of the George's Amazing Adventures series. Steve Gulbis studied at Bath Academy of Art and has been a freelance illustrator since 1981. He has worked for Little Tiger Press, Orchard and Chrysalis. Lou Peacock (Author) Lou Peacock is lucky enough to have one of the best jobs in the world: "Head of Picture books" at Nosy Crow. She has a degree in English literature from Oxford University, and nearly twenty years' experience in children's publishing. She started her editorial career working on novelty books and poetry, but has focussed on picture books, her one true love, for the last 15 years. She often puts her author hat on to write picture books for Nosy Crow and has a notebook full of scribbled ideas. Lisa Sheehan (Illustrator) From an early age, Lisa Sheehan knew art and drawing would be her career in one form or another. After studying BA illustration at Kingston Uni many moons ago, Lisa fell into the world of graphic design, becoming an Art Director for the Financial Times. After having her two young daughters she rekindled her love of illustration and enrolled on the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art. Since graduating she has illustrated a picture book by Margaret Wise Brown, which was shortlisted for the AOI awards, and her first picture book for Nosy Crow is Lionel and the Lion's Share. Lisa currently works part-time at the FT as Senior 2D / 3D Visualiser / Designer (and all round image-maker). She gets her best ideas whilst out running and lives in Bedfordshire with her husband, two daughters and a huge daft ginger Main Coon cat called Chester. Emma Levey works in everything from print and gouache, to photography and 3-D. Emma is based in a teeny, tiny village called Llancarfan, in the south of Wales. As well as enjoying huge success collaborating with Margaret Wise Brown, Clement Hurd also created many beloved children's books with his wife Edith Thatcher Hurd.
