Suzanne I. Barchers, Ed. D. , has been in education for more than 40 years as a classroom teacher and educational author and publisher. An award-winning author, she has written many educational resources and previously served as managing editor, editor-in-chief, and vice president at several leading educational companies. Barchers is past president of the board of directors for the Associated of Educational Publishers. Marie Lafrance was born in Quebec City. Following her love for drawing, she studied graphic arts at a CEGEP in Vieux-Montreal and also studied etching at Studio Graff. At age twenty-three Marie began working as a freelance illustrator, applying her talent to school textbooks, magazines, book covers and posters.
